carlosmarin.com Hey Guys and Girls, its Carlos with an important mentoring message for the week. Today I'm going to talk to you about one of my favorite topics, which is the power of focus. Dr. Denis Waitley, who was one of my mentors, has always said that in life you never get what you want... - You only get what you focus on and expect! Now if you think about it, that's a very big statement but oh so true... You see your focus is what you direct your attention to at any moment in time. And the way the mind works is like the lens of a camera, whatever you focus on is what you see to the exclusion of everything else. This means that when you direct your attention to something you do not see other things and like a camera lens if you zoom in on an object it becomes clearer, and brighter and the detail of it become more obvious. In fact the more you zoom in on it the less of everything else around you is visible to you. Deepak Chopra, in his 7 Spiritual Laws of Success states it this way... whatever you give your attention to grows and expands in your life and what you take your attention away from withers and dies. This means that the more we focus on something, the bigger and more real it becomes to us.
